HANDiCAMS is an EU-funded project under the 7th Research Framework, programme FET-Open SME, Grant agreement no. 323944. HANDiCAMS is running from October 1st, 2013 to September 30th, 2016.

Within HANDiCAMS, researchers of four Partners from four different countries will research on developing novel distributed and adaptive signal processing algorithms under a novel paradigm where multiple devices cooperate in multiple tasks to achieve superior performance in their node-specific interests. The algorithms will deal with the acquisition, coding, processing, and in-network fusion of heterogeneous multimedia signals in a ad-hoc and dynamic wireless network, containing a heterogeneous set of sensor nodes with

• different node-specific interests, e.g., estimating different signals or parameters,
• different node-specific modes of operation, e.g., different sampling rates, different sensor quality, etc.
